Baku – APA. A US Combat jet (McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier) has crashed in Arizona.
A US Marine Corps pilot came unhurt after his military aircraft crashed on Friday afternoon in unpopulated area to the south of Phoenix, Arizona, local ABC15 television network reported.
According to ABC15, the crashed jet was AV-8B Harrier assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. Video from the crash scene showed smoldering parts of the aircraft lying in a deserted area.
The pilot was reported to be picked up by local police about two miles away from the crash scene. He was unhurt except a cut on his nose, APA reports citing ITAR-TASS.
According to different reports, the military aircraft crashed after an engine failure.
