Conference on International Nowruz Day held in Mexico

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Chamber of Deputies of Mexico's Congress held a conference dedicated to the International Nowruz Day, Azerbaijani embassy in Mexico told APA.

Addressing the conference, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico Ilgar Mukhtarov gave information about the history and traditions of Nowruz holiday. He said the resolution declaring March 21 as the International Nowruz Day was passed by the UN General Assembly in February, 2010.

The presentation on the traditions of Nowruz in Azerbaijan prepared by the Azerbaijani embassy was held for the participants of the conference.

Along with the conference, Nowruz event was held at Azerbaijani embassy in Mexico. The event was attended by the Azerbaijanis living in Mexico, famous scientists and culture figures, representatives of the diplomatic offices in Mexico.

Mexico Congress has been holding this event every year since March, 2011. The event is attended by heads of diplomatic offices of Azerbaijan, Iran and Iraq in Mexico, representatives of Mexico Congress.
