US Vice President J.D. Vance identified maintaining low oil prices as Washington's top priority in the standoff with Iran, APA reports.
"I know oil is down today and well below the highs it was at the beginning of the conflict. That's the number one goal, keeping oil and gasoline cheap for Americans all over the country, and then obviously the number two goal is to make sure Iran never gets a nuclear weapon," he said on Fox News.
The American vice president expressed confidence that Washington will succeed in achieving these two goals. "I can say with confidence that, in my view, this will end with the United States in a stronger position with a denuclearized Iran and the return of the Strait of Hormuz to a state where oil and gasoline prices are stable for the American people," Vance stated.
