United States President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed Ukraine peace efforts in a phone call on Sunday, Putin's aide Yuriy Ushakov confirmed, APA reports.
"The conversation was friendly and frank, and, my friends, lasted about an hour," Ushakov told reporters, adding that "Trump once again emphasized the need to end military action" in Ukraine. Trump reportedly agreed that Ukrainian strikes on civilian targets are delaying the peace process.
According to Putin's aide, the Russian leader wished Trump a happy birthday, but did not send him any gifts.
