US President Donald Trump believes Iran will eventually surrender, APA reports.
Speaking to reporters at the White House following a meeting with executives of artificial intelligence companies, Trump said he did not know whether Tehran was already preparing to surrender.
“I don’t know if they’re getting ready to surrender yet. But they will surrender. They’re in very bad shape,” Trump said.
The US President also claimed that a record volume of oil had passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the past several days. The White House has recently highlighted increased oil and gas shipments through the strategic waterway.
Trump reiterated his position that Iran would not obtain a nuclear weapon.
Iranian authorities, for their part, have repeatedly maintained that the country does not intend to develop nuclear weapons.
