The U.S. State Department has approved the possible sale of UH-60M Black Hawk multirole helicopters and related systems to Norway for $2.3 billion, it was stated in a statement published on the U.S. State Department's website, APA reports.
Norwegian authorities previously requested permission from the United States to purchase 21 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, their engines and weapons, as well as various systems, including those for navigation, communications, and defense. "The total cost is estimated at $2.3 billion," the document states.
The US administration has already notified Congress of its decision to approve the potential arms sale. The legislature has 15 days to review the potential deal and consider whether to block it.
