One of the of the United Nations for 2024 regarding sustainable development goals in Azerbaijan is supporting the implementation of the "Smart Village" concept in an integrated community development approach, said Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Azerbaijan Alessandra Roccasalvo during her speech at the meeting of the Government-UN Joint Steering Committee on the implementation of the “Framework Document on Sustainable Development Cooperation between the UN-Azerbaijan for the years 2021-2025” APA reports.
She noted that establishing employment for youth, women, migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons and strengthening social and financial inclusion in war-affected districts is one of the main issues.
In addition, increasing the competitiveness of selected value chains in agriculture, improvement of land consolidation procedures, strengthening the Holistic Health approach in Azerbaijan and its control capabilities for zoonotic diseases and antimicrobial resistance, improvement of seed and agrochemical laboratory and certification services are among the priorities.
