Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. The recent negative developments in poultry farms in Azerbaijan have affected Shamkir Poultry Farm too, said Ahmed Erentok, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ATA-Holding, the parent company of Shamkir Poultry Farm.
According to him, a hike in the prices of bird foods last year increased the cost price of poultry products in Azerbaijan.
“With the support of ATA-Holding, we managed to overcome the problem. At present the poultry farm runs on the normal schedule of operation. The annual capacity is 30 million eggs and 2 000 tons of chicken meat,” he added.
He also noted that Israeli specialists have been hired to modernize the farm.
Shamkir Poultry Farm markets eggs and chicken under the brands of “Kend”.
Established in 2003, ATA-Holding includes 3 companies in the financial sector, 12 in industrial and trade sectors, 8 in construction and service sectors, 2 in energy sector and 3 in communications and IT sectors.
