Minister: US support is important for successful implementation of SGC
According to the embassy, Natig Aliyev made speech in Azerbaijan-US energy forum and the seminar on “Regional development on Caspian basin: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan adn Turkey energy corridor” and informed about energy potential of Azerbaijan, achievements in this field, large-scale projects, as well as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines. “As you know, OPEC and non-OPEC countries will discuss the report of Monitoring Group at an extra-ordinary meeting to be held on May 24. Depending on these discussions, it will be passed a decision whether the agreement will be extended or not. However, I think that December’s decision had impact on the market and oil price remained at around $50-60. Therefore, I think the agreement should be extended in order to keep the stability. APA reports that following the hearing held in Sabunchu District Court, the lawyer refused to give statement to journalists, APA reports. Gurbanov’s lawyers Ilkin Mustafa, Azer taghiyev, Zaur Niftaliyev said that some media outlets disseminate unfounded and biased information on their behalf: “Those journalists don’t attend the hearings, come to the court, but spread biased information. Therefore, we will not give statement to journalists.”

“We are supposed to insure the timely implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor, including its components such as TANAP. Rise in oil price positively affects manat rate – Energy Minister
