As of June 1, 2018, number of workers in Azerbaijan’s economy made up 1,545,400, including 886,800 workers in state sector, 658,600 in non-state sector.
According to the State Statistical Committee, 21.5% of hired workers were in education, 18.9% in trade; repair of transport facilities, 13.2% in industry, 8.5% in medical and social service for population, 7% in construction, 4.6% in transport and storehouse, 3.4% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.1% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.6% in finance and insurance and 11.2% in other spheres.
Average monthly salary of the wageworkers rose 4% to AZN 541.
