As of April 1, 2018, number of workers in Azerbaijan’s economy made up 1,532,300, including 888,900 workers in state sector, 643,400 in non-state sector.
According to the State Statistical Committee, 21.7% hired workers in were in education, 19% in trade; repair of transport facilities, 13.5% in industry, 8.6% in medical and social service for population, 6.2% in construction, 4.6% in transport and storehouse, 3.4% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.2% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.6% in finance and insurance and 11.1% in other spheres.
Average monthly salary of the wageworkers rose 3.5% to AZN 532.4.
