Since the beginning of 2017, Azerbaijan’s border guards have detained 503 people for trespassing the state border and 12,241 for violating the rules of the border regime.
This was announced on Thursday at the meeting dedicated to the results of the activities of Azerbaijan's State Border Service in 2017, APA reports.
Moreover, 4,686 wanted people were captured during the reporting period.
Azerbaijan’s border guards also managed to prevent the smuggling of goods worth over 13 million manats and more than 156 kg of drugs.
