The solar crown was much bigger compared to its previous sizes.

The eclipse lasted 2 minutes 40 seconds and the lunar shadow was 115 kilometers in width.

Only US residents were able to watch the natural phenomenon, which covered Western Europe and South America.

The next solar eclipse is expected to happen on September 2, 2035.

The first solar eclipse of the year was on September 26, and the first lunar eclipse occurred on February 11, 2017.
