"The Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations are experiencing a new stage of a new content in the modern age. This can be observed on both political and economic spheres, as well as in the cultural and humanitarian areas," Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said in a one-on-one meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
He noted that both Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan do their best for security, prosperity, stability and development on a global scale, APA reported.
"To carry out this policy, our countries are cooperating with the UN, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other influential international organizations. We are grateful to you for your constant support for Turkmenistan's policy which is based on neutral status. As regards trade and economic relations, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan today are playing a special part in the region and beyond by implementing major projects in the energy, transport and other areas. This is not limited to the two countries contributing to the region’s development. The projects implemented by our countries are of great importance and play a significant role in the world," Berdimuhamedov said.
