Georgian official: I’m confident more countries will join BTK

“I’m confident more countries will join Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project”, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia, APA’s Georgia correspondent reports.

He said hopes that the project will be launched soon.

“The project will contribute to our economic, cultural and political development”, the minister said.

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of Turkey Ahmet Arslan, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov and Kazakh delegation held meeting in Kars. They discussed implementation of the project and strengthening of economic links.

Director General of the Georgian Railway JSC Mamuka Bakhtadze noted importance of the BTK: “BTK creates opportunities for transport potential of Georgia. This project will connect the Central Asian countries with regional countries, our region with the European markets”.
