Azerbaijan has publicized the list of the most widespread diseases.
The top diseases recorded last year include respiratory illnesses, problems with the nervous and digestive systems, ailments of sense and digestive organs, circulatory system diseases as well as infectious and parasitic diseases, APA reported.
In addition, there has been some increase in the number of case of syphilis, tetanus, chicken pox, brucellosis, anthrax, and severe intestinal infections.
Measures taken against diabetes, blood diseases, blood services, chronic renal failure, tuberculosis, infectious diseases resulted in a better medical service for patients. State programs for the protection of the health of mothers and children aimed to reduce diseases and deaths among children and improve reproductive services and consultations to young men and women.
According to initial information, there are 32,600 doctors and 55,000 average medical workers in the country working in 559 hospitals and 1,751 out-patient hospitals. There are 34 doctors and 57 average medical workers per 10,000 people.
