State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents told APA-Economics that trainings on application of standard on “Energy Management Systems” (ISO 50001) and internal audit organized by Azerbaijan Standardization and Certification Institute and British Standards Institution will start on January 21.
Three-day trainings will be held with the participation of British institution experts. The participants, who will successfully finish the trainings, will get official certificate of British Standards Institution on internal audit skills on the application of ISO 50001 standard.
The standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy management system, whose purpose is to enable an organization to follow a systematic approach in achieving continual improvement of energy performance, including energy efficiency, energy security, energy use and consumption. The standard aims to help organizations continually reduce their energy use, and therefore their energy costs and their greenhouse gas emissions.
Those wishing to attend the trainings are to submit information about themselves to Azerbaijan Standardization and Certification Institute by January 17.
