Wizz Air to resume flights to Baku from March

Baku. Musa Ahmadov - APA-Economics. The Azerbaijan State Civil Aviation Administration and the Hungarian-Polish budget airline Wizz Air on Wednesday agreed on resuming regular flights on Budapest-Baku-Budapest route.

For this purpose, Wizz Air and Ground Handling Company signed an agreement on handling flights. The agreement was signed by Ilgar Alakbarov (Azerbaijan) and József Janos Váradi (Wizz Air).

On the basis of this agreement, Wizz Air will resume regular Budapest-Baku-Budapest flights in March 2016. Initially, the airline will carry out flights once a week while in the summer time the number of flights will be doubled.

According to the agreement, Wizz Air undertakes to conduct all Budapest-Baku-Budapest regular flights throughout the year.

To date, Wizz Air had implemented flights in the summer of 2013 and 2014 only.

From 18 May 2013 to 25 October 2014, the airline has carried out a total of 143 flights – two flights a week.
