Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. The Baku city main police office and the city prosecutor’s office have issued information on the gruesome murder committed in Yasamal district.
In a series of urgent search operations, Baku law enforcement agencies have solved the murder committed under unknown circumstances.
On 26 September 2015, law enforcement agencies received information of Yasamal district resident Kamran Mahmudov (1976) having gone missing. As a result of investigative and search operations conducted based on this information, it became clear that on the same day around 3:00AM Baku city resident Sadi Mammadov and his acquaintance Lale Mahmudova on preliminary arrangement headed to the house of Lale’s husband, Kamran Mahmudov, in order to kill him. Sadi Mammadov fired several shots with his firearm on Kamran Mahmudov while the latter was asleep and then sliced his body into pieces together with Lale Mahmudova. They then carried the body in their BMW to the house of Sadi’s brother, Ali Mamamdov, in Ismayilli district and buried the pieces in the yard.
A criminal case has been opened on the Criminal Code’s Article 120.2.1 (deliberate murder by a group of persons on preliminary arrangement). Mahmudov’s body was exhumed for examination. The gun with which K. Mahmudov had been killed and 12 bullets were seized as material evidence.
Due to reasonable suspicions of S. Mammadov and L. Mahmudova having committed the killing, the two were detained.
Investigation is underway.
