Baku. Yegane Lachinzade - APA-Economics. “Manat devaluation in February was inevitable”, said the Finance Minister Samir Sharifov at Azerbaijan Television (AzTV).
The minister noted that this phenomenon was observed in all regional countries: “I especially would like to mention our main trade partners. This directly influences our economy, interests of our companies. We corrected exchange rate of manat to protect or producers from import. The interest point is that oil importing countries should not face devaluation. However, look, what happens in those countries. Their national currencies were also devalued, while they had to earn from oil price decline. This means that the processes are not as simple as they seem”
