The incident took place in karaoke bar Baritone, located in the Kiev district of Volgograd.

24-year-old Edward Nabioghlu, who was born in Azerbaijan’s Balakan district, was wounded as a result of fire opened by the bar owner’s son of Armenian origin. He was hospitalized, but doctors couldn’t save him.

Edward’s body has been taken to Azerbaijan, Fikrat Mammadov, deputy chairman of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress’s regional office in Volgograd, told APA’s Russia bureau on Sept.14.

According to him, the deceased was buried in Balakan district.

Chairman of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress’s regional office Teymur Hasanov told APA that further revealed details of the incident between Azerbaijanis and Armenians in Volgograd.

“Law enforcement agencies told me that Chiriyev and his friends, after eating together, decided to go to a bar owned by an Armenian in the city. So they went there and a brawl erupted between them and Armenians in the bar. Virabyan, son of the Armenian who owns the bar, took his Sayqa rifle and fired at Edward Chiriyev. And the latter died of the wound,” said Teymur Hasanov.

The diaspora leader said the incident is under control of law enforcement agencies.

Note that, the Armenian who killed Chiriyev is the son of Vyacheslav Virabyan, who had chaired the Armenian diaspora in Volgograd for a while.
