Faig Mahmudov – APA. “Water level is expected to reduce in Kura, Araz and Ganikh rivers, as well as in some mountain rivers due to dry, hot weather in Azerbaijan,” Senior hydrologist of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Asif Verdiyev told APA.
He said that water level sharply reduced in mountain rivers: “The process of drying up is not recorded in the rivers that are under observation. The process of drying up is mostly observed in large river-beds.”
The senior hydrologist said that hot weather will continue in Azerbaijan till August 5.
Verdiyev noted that temperature in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and some lowland regions will be 35…40 C in the daytime, 43 C in some places.
The temperature in Baku and Absheron peninsula will be 35…39 C in the daytime, 40 C in some places.
