Baku. Malahat Najafova – APA. Energy ties between US and Azerbaijan are in an excellent condition, said Victoria Nuland, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, APA reports.
Nuland noted that there are efforts to implement new projects, reminding that the first joint project between the two countries is the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
“We’re working together to realize the Southern Gas Corridor project, which is of importance to not only Azerbaijan but all countries whose energy is from a single source. This is a join project of Europe, Azerbaijan and the United States. We intend to build close contact with the European Union to improve this project. At the same time, we discussed with the Azerbaijani president the issue of economic diversification. The president is pretty interested in this issue. We also discussed issues of expanding relations on information technologies, transportation and agriculture,” the US official underlined.
