Guba. Vali Turan – APA. Religion may be taught in the secondary schools of Azerbaijan in the future”, said the Chairman of State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli.
He said that there are materials in the historical and literature textbooks to improve religious knowledge of the pupils: “However, after discussions with responsible persons, specialists, educators and ministers of religion, it’s possible to teach religious lessons in the secondary schools in the future. There is still such idea. But this is not my initiative”.
He also noted that there are also proposals to historical textbooks for improvement of religious knowledge: “It’s needed to enlighten the religion not anyone to abuse low information in this sphere”.
