A. Hasanov said that this is firstly related to location of our republic in the useful geographical position on drug transit from East to the West: “Revenues from narco-business are directed to other transnational crimes, as well as financing and committing terrorist acts and these cases increases its threat. Though Azerbaijan states it is always ahead in combating narcomania and narco-business, it faces difficulties some times. As a result of ethnic cleansing policy conducted by Armenian invaders, Azerbaijan’s Nagorno Karabakh and surrounding 7 regions have been occupied. 132 km area of Azerbaijan with Iranian border is uncontrolled and the drug trafficking through this area to Europe and other countries is active. Production of drugs in the occupied territories, directions of revenues from their sale to creation of terrorist groups and their trainings increases its threat. This is one of the main factors violating stability in the Caucasus”.
