Prosecutor General’s Office confirms reports on involvement of journalist Khadija Ismayilova in investigation - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office Eldar Sultanov told APA that relevant agencies were instructed to investigate the media reports that on February 17, 2014 journalist Khadija Ismayilova disseminated and posted on her Facebook account state secret documents supposedly covering activity of the National Security Ministry.

Criminal case has been launched under article 284 (dissemination of state secrets).

Khadija Ismayilova has been summoned to the Prosecutor’s Office to give testimony as a witness.

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Journalist Khadija Ismayilova has been summoned to the Prosecutor's Office. APA reports that Ismayilova wrote about it on her Facebook page.

She wrote that criminal case had been launched against her: “I’ve received call from the Prosecutor General's Office. The criminal case has been launched under article 284 (dissemination of state secrets).”

Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office Eldar Sultanov told APA that he will either confirm or refute the information in the second half of the day.

A few days ago Ismayilova posted a letter on her Facebook page claiming it was sent from the Ministry of National Security. She said that she received this letter in 2011.
