Baku. Aynur Aliyeva – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s ICT Minister Ali Abbasov has met with president of Canada’s University of Waterloo Feridun Hamdullahpur.
Abbasov said 2013 had been announced ICT year in Azerbaijan. He spoke about the reforms conducted in this sphere and mentioned that growth rate of the sector is increasing from year to year.
Hamdullahpur appreciated establishment of University of Information Technologies in Azerbaijan. He touched upon mutual practice exchange in this sphere. Expressing satisfaction about the successes of nearly 30 Azerbaijani students, educating at Waterloo University, the guest said he is sure that each student of Waterloo University studying on various specialties in information technologies area will be able to contribute to economic development of their countries.
Besides, Hamdullahpur expressed that the Canadian University wants to support the formation of the University of Information Technologies in Azerbaijan. In turn, Abbasov highly assessed initiative of Canadian guest and said that he would consider experience of Canada, especially University of Waterloo in formation of future activity of the university.
