APA reports that they returned to Azerbaijan via Tehran-Baku flight.
Following the two notes of Azerbaijan, Iran’s Foreign Ministry reported that they were detained because of illegal activities.
Khalida Khalid and Shamkhal Huseynov were handed over to Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran on June 3.
On April 30, employee of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), researcher and writer Khalida Khalid and her driver Shamkhal Huseynov were arrested at the father’s house of Azerbaijani activist Mahammad (Okhtay) Rashidi by the employees of the Ministry of Intelligence and National Security (MISIRI).
They gathered at the father's house of Okhtay Rasidi on the occasion of his mother’s birthday and Mother's Day in Iran. But MISIRI employees attacked the house, confiscated the books, computer and a number of personal belongings and taken them to an unknown direction.
The other detained persons are Azerbaijani cultural activist Ashug Isag Garakhanli (writer), Amir Hadiyan (student of Azad University of Tabriz) and Farhadi (writer).
