Azerbaijani President: "Today Azerbaijan has last word in the transportation of energy resources of the Caspian Basin"

"Our energy diplomacy also very successful and glancing current processes related to energy resources in the world and Europe, once again we see that it is impossible to separate the energy policy from common diplomatic and political context. Here Azerbaijan has decisive word", - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on March 19, during his speech at the festival on the occasion of Novruz holiday, APA reports.

"The energy policy of Azerbaijan said its word, its position is crucial. Why? Come back to the mid-1990s. At the time, thanks to the determination and courage of the Heydar Aliyev was done invaluable work for the future of our country. Despite all the threats, harassment and pressure, thanks to the determination and courage of Heydar Aliyev signed the "Contract of the Century", and from that day the oil strategy, and then the energy diplomacy of Azerbaijan fully serve the national interests of our country and our people, "said Ilham Aliyev.

The President noted that if in those years, our energy initiatives, we can say, did not go beyond the regional context; the position now, activities and initiatives of Azerbaijan makes a big change in the energy map of the continent, “Today Azerbaijan has last word in the transportation of energy resources of the Caspian Basin. Our position, as always, was fair and in full compliance with the national interest. Azerbaijan's energy initiatives put forward, of course, will provide momentum for further long-term development of our country and at the same time will make Azerbaijan an essential partner for friendly countries. I am confident that, as in previous years, all our initiatives come true, and this time and long-term strategy for the development of our country will be successfully implemented."

President Ilham Aliyev noted that at the same time, the internal policy required us to reduce dependence on the energy factor, as energy to be exhaustive: "We must look to the future. Despite the fact that the gas and oil resources of Azerbaijan will serve our people for decades after that, now to be laid, and has laid a solid foundation for the non-oil economy.
