“According to the information we received, the trilateral meeting held in Brussels on July 15, 2023, has discussed the issue of safe and dignified return of Western Azerbaijanis to their homes. Bringing the issue of our return to the agenda of negotiations on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia is a historical development towards a peaceful solution of this issue in compliance with international law. This further inspires the West Azerbaijani Community and every Azerbaijani forcibly uprooted from Armenia towards activities for the realization of the right of return,” the Western Azerbaijan Community told APA.

“The Western Azerbaijan Community once again declares that the safe and dignified return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia to their homes is a celebration of human rights and justice, along with a necessary precondition for the establishment of lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. From this point of view, we heartily welcome bringing the issue of the right of return and security of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia into the framework of the Brussels peace process. The Western Azerbaijan Community once again declares its readiness for direct negotiations with the Armenian government on this issue, in parallel with the consideration of the return issue in the Brussels peace process, which contributes to the normalization of interstate relations, and renews its call to the Armenian government for dialogue in this regard,” the community noted.
