"The activities of the Western Azerbaijan Community are significant in ensuring the rights of Azerbaijanis who have been subjected to injustice for years," said Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, and head of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Delegation, during the opening session of the 2nd International Conference on the Right of Return, organized by the Western Azerbaijan Community, APA reports.
He emphasized that the work of the Western Azerbaijan Community fully aligns with international law: "This is not just a territorial issue; it is a matter of human rights. However, the Armenian government continues to ignore calls for dialogue."
Çavuşoğlu underscored the importance of preserving Azerbaijan's cultural heritage, which has been destroyed in Armenia, and stressed the necessity of international organizations addressing this issue.
"Azerbaijan's peace-oriented policies are commendable. Establishing peace in the region is a shared aspiration of Türkiye and Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev's initiatives should serve as an example to all. It is crucial for Armenia to respond appropriately to these initiatives," he added.
