Center head: Goal is to present historical truths about Western Azerbaijan with scientific accuracy

“The Virtual Western Azerbaijan Encyclopedia is aimed at implementing the strategic call issued by the President in a practical and scientific framework,” Anar Gadirli, Chairman of the Strategic Communications Center and Chief Adviser of the project, said during his speech at the presentation ceremony of the Virtual Western Azerbaijan encyclopedic collection held in Baku, APA reports.

According to him, the main goal is to present historical truths related to Western Azerbaijan not merely through emotional appeals, but on the basis of academic objectivity and scientific accuracy:

“Our aim is to strengthen the factual foundation of this topic at both national and international levels. The complete expulsion of Azerbaijanis from these territories was not simply the displacement of people from their native lands. This process was accompanied by the renaming of settlements, the destruction of historical monuments, mosques, and cemeteries—in other words, the erasure of an entire cultural heritage. In his speech, the President also drew attention to a very important point: the Azerbaijani truths of Karabakh must be studied systematically and documented on scientific grounds. This issue is not only about restoring historical justice, but is also extremely important for preserving national identity and ensuring that younger generations are raised with accurate and truthful historical knowledge. Therefore, the consolidation of scientific research, archival documents, and statistical data in a single center has been identified as a priority direction.”
