First excursion organized to Gala Archeological Ethnographic Museum- Complex - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Info-tour to Gala Archeological Ethnographic Museum- Complex was organized on joint initiative of Culture and Tourism Ministry and Baku Tourism Information Center for the diplomats of diplomatic offices accredited in Baku, representatives of travel agencies and students and teachers of higher schools in Baku, APA reports. The aim of the info-tour was to bring up youth in the spirit of patriotism and love for history, increase the number of foreign guests and tourists. Director of Gala Preserve Fikrat Abdullayev said that it was the first excursion to Gala Preserve.
“The route covers great majority of the cultural historical monuments in Absheron peninsula. Our museum-complex is the most interesting of all, the route ends here. The museum-complex constructed with support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation was inaugurated on October 10 last year. This great project was implemented within short period,” he said.
Abdullayev noted that the museum-complex included materials, exhibits, reconstructed buildings, ancient dwelling places beginning from 3rd millennium B.C till the beginning of the 20th century.
“There are both archeological and ethnographic materials here. We have tried to reflect ancient history, cultural heritage and medieval living standards. When the museum- complex was being established, the main idea was to help development of tourism. This is the main direction of tourism in the developed countries of the world,” he said.

Director of Tourism Information Center Alibanda Mammadov said next time the tour will be extended and restoring historical monument of Yanardagh would be opened by the end of the year. Israel’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Arthur Lenk, who attended the tour, said Azerbaijan had very ancient culture and he enjoyed with such events. “Azerbaijan is very ancient country and has very ancient and beautiful traditions. This event helps the young people to learn Azerbaijani traditions. I congratulate the participants of the tour and wish to organize more events in future”.

The guests watched the Azerbaijani national dances and were informed about the Gala Archeological Ethnography Museum Complex in detail. More than 120 particpants, including students and professors of Geography School of Baku State University, Tourism Schools of Azerbaijan Tourism Institute and Western University, as well as foreign diplomats, Azerbaijani government officials joined the info-tour. They received Azerbaijani, Russia and English booklets about the Gala Museum after the info-tour.
