Teymur Musayev, the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan met with Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization within the framework of the 73rd session of the World Health Organization Regional Committee for Europe in Astana, Kazakhstan, the Ministry told APA.
Teymur Musayev said that the examination and treatment of the people living in Garabagh has already been covered by the Azerbaijani state during the meeting.
Also, the minister noted that the current situation was welcomed within the framework of the UN representatives' visit to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan: "The population living in that region was immediately provided with food and medicines. As a result of the explosion at the gas station in Khankendi, the employees of the Ministry of Emergencies of Azerbaijan organized the extinguishing of the fire and the provision of emergency medical aid to the victims.
The Director General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, highly appreciated the importance of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to cooperation with the WHO. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude for the detailed information about the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and the work done in the field of protecting the health of the people living in this region.
