“I highly evaluate the 3300 services included in the compulsory medical insurance package of Azerbaijan,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization today at the official opening ceremony of 11th Global Baku Forum, APA reports.

The Director-General of WHO said that healthcare is fundamental to the establishment of peace and security:

“The COVID pandemic has once again highlighted the importance of healthcare. We are witnessing that the pandemic is increasing the tension at the global level. Will we take an example from the results of the pandemic? Negotiations are undergoing for the establishment of a basis for signing an agreement for international cooperation during the pandemic. There is basis to clarify some issues related to this. They say that WHO has taken over everything and it is a threat to national security. These are unjustified. If we miss the opportunity to sign a pandemic agreement, we will face the risk of losing evolution. But if countries come together on the basis of compromises, they can demonstrate that we can fix our fractured world. Pandemic agreement is crucial to building a fair world. Let's work fast to conclude the agreement over the next 9 weeks.”
