The conference on Islamophobia held in Baku is important for academicians working in the field of public education so that Muslim minorities are not discriminated against, Sahar Aziz, professor of Law School of Rutgers University of the USA, told APA's Garabagh bureau.

"The Islamophobia conference is especially important for academics working to protect Muslim minorities from harassment or discrimination by educating the public about the real problem of Islamophobia in Western countries and Europe. We want Muslims and Islam to be treated equally like other faiths," said Sahar Aziz.

The professor emphasized that his visit to Shusha made him want to study the history of Azerbaijan: "The visit to Shusha was wonderful. I am here for the first time. I was very impressed by the beauty of the city, its history, especially its cultural history. I want to learn more about Azerbaijan and Shusha".
