Int'l forum participants watched process of neutralization of landmines in Azerbaijan's Aghdam-UPDATED-1

The participants of the International Forum on “Healthy Environment and Mine-Free Life to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”, organized by Azerbaijan's Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) viewed the demined area in Bash Garvand village of Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district, APA's Garabagh bureau reports.

15 international experts from numerous countries and representatives of local NGOs watched the process of neutralization of the landmines found in the area.

The participants of the International Forum on “Healthy Environment and Mine-Free Life to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”, organized by Azerbaijan's Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) viewed the demined area in Bash Garvand village of Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district, APA's Garabagh bureau reports.

15 international experts from numerous countries and representatives of local NGOs participated in the forum and were informed about demining works.

They were informed about the demining training with the first women minesweepers group, rats and dogs in Azerbaijan.

The participants of the International Forum on “Healthy Environment and Mine-Free Life to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”, organized by Azerbaijan's Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) have started their visit to Azerbaijan's Aghdam, APA's Garabagh bureau reports.

The participants of the forum first visited the Aghdam Alley of Martyrs. The memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence. The guests were informed about Aghdam Alley of Martyrs.

It was noted that the military and civilian martyrs martyred in the Khojaly Genocide and the First Garabagh War have been buried here. Later, the forum participants are scheduled to visit the demined area.
