Housing complexes for return of 8,000 people to Aghdam to be commissioned this year

Housing complexes designed to enable the return of 8,000 people to the city of Aghdam will be commissioned this year, Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavand districts, said, APA reports.

Huseynov said the measures outlined under the First State Program on the Great Return to the liberated territories are proceeding according to schedule.

Construction of the fourth and fifth residential complexes in Aghdam city is currently underway alongside reconstruction work in the villages of Eyvazkhanbayli and Bash Garvand. All these projects are expected to be completed by the end of the year.

“This means the return of a total of 8,000 people to Aghdam city and the resettlement of 427 and 851 families in Eyvazkhanbayli and Bash Garvand, respectively, during the initial stage,” he said.

Huseynov added that reconstruction is also continuing in the villages of Dovlatyarli and Pirahmadli in the Fuzuli district.

The second “Smart Village” project in Dovlatyarli is designed to accommodate 450 families, while 146 families are expected to settle in Pirahmadli during the initial stage.
