At the invitation of Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, Executive Director of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) Janne Holst Hübner has arrived for a working visit to the country, Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.
During the meeting, Prosecutor General and IAP Vice President Kamran Aliyev highlighted the significant strides made in digitization as part of the extensive reforms undertaken in prosecution bodies.
The discussions revolved around preparations for the 29th IAP Annual Conference and General Meeting scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan in September 2024, along with various organizational matters. The Prosecutor General also mentioned the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which Azerbaijan is set to host in November of this year.
Expressing gratitude for the sincere reception, Janne Holst Hübner commended the reforms implemented in the prosecution authorities. He also expressed appreciation for the invaluable contribution and steadfast support provided by the leadership of the national prosecution authorities to the activities of the Association.
