Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova met with Khalid Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, on January 29, as part of her official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told APA.
It was reported that the Speaker of the Shura Council, greeting the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, thanked the Speaker Sahiba Gafarova for accepting the invitation and visiting the Sultanate of Oman. Expressing satisfaction with the good level of political and other relations between Oman and Azerbaijan, the Speaker of the Shura Council noted the special role of parliaments in the development of mutual relations. It was noted that this visit of the Speaker of the Milli Majlis will contribute to the further expansion of mutual relations.
It was emphasized that the mutual relations of parliaments make a significant contribution to bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries. The activities of inter-parliamentary friendship groups are very important in this area. It was noted that the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement are important platforms in this area.
During the conversation, Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Speaker of the Council of the Sultanate of Oman, noted that they have witnessed the economic development of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the wise leader.
