Azerbaijan sends former IDPS to Khankendi city and Aghdara district, families receive house keys - UPDATED - 2

Another relocation to the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara district took place on June 19,  the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts told APA.

18 families comprising 68 people were relocated to the city of Khankendi today, while 12 people from 2 families were relocated to the village of Ashaghi Oratag in the Aghdara district.

The keys to the apartments were presented to the residents by Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, and Mahmud Afandiyev, Deputy Director of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts.

Speaking at the event, S. Gahramanov congratulated the residents on their return to their homeland and wished them happy days on their native land. He also provided information about the large-scale restoration, reconstruction and construction works being carried out in the region, noting that all necessary infrastructure has been created and social facilities have been put into operation to ensure comfortable and safe living conditions for residents. He also spoke about measures being implemented to address employment issues, emphasizing that new jobs have been created in the region, vocational training and employment programs are being implemented, and ensuring sustainable employment for returning citizens is one of the state's main priorities.

As part of the event, employees of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) held a mine safety awareness meeting with the relocated residents. The residents were provided with detailed information about the dangers posed by mines and unexploded ordnance, rules of conduct in risky areas, as well as the steps to be taken if suspicious objects are discovered.

The residents also shared their joy at returning to their native land and expressed gratitude to those who made this pride possible.

Note that the relocation to the liberated territories is being carried out in stages.

The next relocation convoy has arrived in the city of Khankendi, APA's Karabakh bureau reports.

On June 19, 18 families comprising 68 people were relocated to the city. The families were presented with the keys to their new apartments, and the necessary conditions were created for their settlement.

Representatives of the Special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi, as well as in the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, and representatives of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons attended the key handover ceremony.

Note that the phased return of former internally displaced persons to their native lands within the framework of the Great Return Program to the territories liberated from occupation is continuing.

Another resettlement convoy has been dispatched to the city of Khankendi, APA rpeorts.

Those relocating to Khankendi are families who had been temporarily settled in various parts of the country, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings.

At the next stage, 18 families, comprising 68 people, will be relocated to the city of Khankendi.
