Azerbaijan's Khankendi hosted Education and Partnership Forum -PHOTO -UPDATED

On June 2, the Karabakh Education and Partnership Forum was held at Karabakh University in the city of Khankendi, APA's local bureau reports. 

It was noted at the event that the goal of the forum is to promote the development of education and public-private partnership in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

The forum was held with the concept message “Joint Steps for the Future Karabakh” in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Economy, jointly organized by the Karabakh Revival Fund, the Education Development Fund, the Azerbaijan Free Trade Union of Education Workers and Karabakh University.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Karabakh University Rector Shahin Bayramov welcomed the participants and made an introductory speech. Then, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Special Representative of the President in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara and Khojaly districts Elchin Yusubov made speeches and voiced a number of important ideas about the development of education in the Karabakh region, strengthening human capital and the strategic importance of public-private sector cooperation.

The establishment of the “Karabakh Scholarship Program” was one of the main outcomes of the Forum. Thus, organizations and companies representing different sectors - Karabakh Revival Fund, Veysaloglu Group of Companies, International Bank of Azerbaijan, Kapital Bank OJSC, Free Trade Union of Education Workers, “McDonald’s Azerbaijan” CJSC, “PSG Capital” Investment Company, ASELSAN Company, “GEN ilax” Company, “LANDAU School” School Complex, Hadaf Group of Companies, Çaşıoğlu Company, İnci Group of Companies, “Code Academy”, Baku Design Academy and TUNA Company have undertaken the obligation to establish scholarships for students studying at Karabakh University.

The main goal here is to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region, strengthen public-private sector cooperation, as well as attract young people to Karabakh and increase interest in the region, provide financial support to students, and encourage their academic and professional development.

Later, a panel discussion on two different topics was organized within the Forum with the participation of professional moderators and speakers. The first panel, titled “The Great Return: Challenges and Opportunities,” moderated by Elnur Nasibov, Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Foundation, featured Emin Amrullayev, Elchin Yusubov, and Rahman Hajiyev, Head of the Karabakh Revival Foundation, as speakers, touching upon the issues of regional reconstruction and human resource development.

The second panel was dedicated to the topic of “Public-private partnership opportunities in Karabakh.” At the panel moderated by Jeyhun Karamov, Director of the State Agency for Vocational Education, Rector of Karabakh University Shahin Bayramov, Founder and CEO of the Veysaloglu Group of Companies Aydin Talibov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Taleh Tahirli, Member of the Board of Kapital Bank OJSC Farid Hidayetzade, and Chairman of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers Araz Pashayev discussed the prospects of public-private partnership in the region and opportunities for mutual cooperation.

The forum ended with an artistic part in which Azerbaijani  national music was performed by the teaching and student staff of Karabakh University.

It should be noted that the "Education and Partnership Forum", which once again brought to the agenda the importance of coordinated activities of all parties in the restoration and development of Karabakh, brought together more than 200 participants, including representatives of state institutions, staff of special missions located in the region, representatives of the private sector, and university professors and teaching staff.

The forum is attended by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Special Representative of the President in the city of Khankendi, and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts Elchin Yusubov and other officials.

The forum began with a tribute to the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and those who were martyred for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, followed by the performance of the Azerbaijani national anthem.
