An event was held outside the Iraqi Embassy in Azerbaijan on Tuesday to mark Iraq’s regain of power over Kirkuk province.
Fadhil Awad Al Shuwaili, Iraq’s Charge D'affaires to Azerbaijan, said the event was joined by Iraqi diaspora members as well as Iraqi students.
“The event is aimed at demonstrating support for Iraq’s integrity. Representatives of all the ethnicities inhabiting Iraq are represented here. And they too express their support for Iraq’s integrity,” he said.
“Iraq’s regain of power over Kirkuk has opened the way to liberate other territories,” he noted, adding that Kirkuk is home to representatives of a number of ethnicities.
“The Iraqi federal government’s regain of control over these areas is positive. Iraq is solely entitled to all of its oil resources and border checkpoints,” added the diplomat.
