Putin, Erdogan holding meeting in Moscow

A meeting between the Russian and Turkish presidents kicked off in Moscow March 10.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Chief of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Hakan Fidan and Turkish president’s aide Ibrahim Kalin are attending the meeting, an APA correspondent reported from Moscow.

Putin said he is glad to welcome his Turkish counterpart in Moscow, expressing confidence that the meeting will be fruitful.

Putin added that the meeting will focus on the implementation of joint projects in energy and other areas, as well as the cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

In his turn, Turkish President Erdogan said he is glad to be in Moscow, noting that they will join the 6th meeting of the High-Level Russia-Turkey Cooperation Council and discuss the issues regarding the bilateral relations and the regional problems.

Following the bilateral meeting, the 6th meeting of the High-Level Russia-Turkey Cooperation Council will begin.
