President Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order on simplifying visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons traveling to the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the organization of the first FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026, APA reports.
Under the Order, foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Azerbaijan for the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival who present any of the documents specified in Part 2 of the Order will be eligible to obtain a visa at Azerbaijan’s international airports from September 22 to November 5, 2026.
The grounds for visa issuance include an official invitation letter from the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) or confirmation of accreditation issued through the electronic registration system in accordance with relevant FIFA regulations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must notify FIFA, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and relevant foreign authorities about the simplified visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons traveling to Azerbaijan for the event. The Ministry is also tasked with ensuring that information regarding the simplified visa procedures and the option to obtain an electronic visa through the "ASAN Visa" system is posted on the official websites of the Ministry, as well as those of Azerbaijan’s embassies and consulates abroad.
The State Migration Service must inform airlines operating flights to Azerbaijan about the simplified visa procedures arranged for foreigners and stateless persons attending the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival.
