“We also discussed transportation and freight traffic today,” President Ilham Aliyev said in joint press statements with President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, APA’s correspondent reports.
The head of state said that the President of Laos noted that railway connection projects with neighboring countries are being implemented. Thus, once those projects are completed, they could also connect directly to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
According to President Ilham Aliyev, he, in turn, stated that all major transport and logistics projects in Azerbaijan have already been implemented and that work is underway to increase the volume of cargo.
“I hope that in the future, after all these projects being implemented on both sides are completed, the volume of cargo transportation will also increase,” the head of state added.
