The construction of a ferry for Uzbekistan should also be accelerated, President Ilham Aliyev said at the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, APA's special correspondent reports.
“Projects related to the development of agriculture are also being successfully implemented. We have already achieved certain results in the transport and transit sector. I have been informed that the volume of cargo transported from Uzbekistan through Azerbaijan is increasing. At the same time, the construction of a ferry for Uzbekistan should also be accelerated. We have discussed this with Shavkat Miromonovich. The issue has been resolved; it will simply be necessary to include this project on the list of priorities.
“Currently, around 10 vessels of various types, including ferries, tankers and dry cargo ships, are being built simultaneously at our shipbuilding facility. The facility is currently operating at 100% capacity. Therefore, I think a slot should be found for this ferry. Deputy Minister of Transport, please take this into account so that the project is given priority,” the head of state said.
