Azerbaijan and Cambodia consider peace and security key conditions for development, President Ilham Aliyev said in a joint press statement with Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Manet, APA reports.
“Peace and security must be ensured on the basis of respect for international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. After 30 years of occupation, Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty by force. At present, every inch of Azerbaijani land is under the control of the Azerbaijani government and people. Large-scale reconstruction work is now being carried out in the territories cleared of Armenia’s occupying forces, and the Great Return program is being implemented. Around 100,000 people are already living and working in those territories. This process is continuing. Thus, in a certain sense, we have faced similar difficulties. At the same time, our commitment to international law also unites us,” President Ilham Aliyev noted.
