Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-Economics. The transit of Azerbaijan’s crude oil via Georgia to the Black Sea ports will be resumed after repair of the exploded bridge and railway is complete on September 15, said Rovnag Abdullayev, President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
Oil transit will be resumed soon.
“The pipeline is being tested now,” he noted.
Azerbaijan exports oil to world markets through three routes, Baku-Novorossiysk (Russia), Baku-Supsa (Georgia) and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (Georgia and Turkey).
A key railway bridge 45km west of the capital Tbilisi was blown up on August 16. Georgia accused Russian troops of blowing up a key railway bridge while Russia’s General Staff denied carrying out the bridge attack, declaring that hostilities that flared around South Ossetia were, as far as it was concerned, over.
