“Great Britain has abolished restriction over Turkiye on the exportation of defense industry products up to 85%,” said Turkiye’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, APA reports.

According to him, following Turkiye’s movements carried out against YPG and PYD, some allied countries applied restrictions, especially on the defense industry, and put export bans: “Now we see it is gradually changing. Boris Johnson by Great Britain promised to our President. Britain lifted restrictions up to 85%. We are working on lifting the remaining 15%.”

M. Cavusoglu stressed that he also met with the Canadian Foreign Minister regarding the same issue adding that Turkiye tries to settle the issue by way of correspondence.

The Foreign Minister noted that the main direction with Canada is to regulate the export of imported products to third countries.

"Canada has canceled this (export of equipment used in the production of defense industry products to Turkey), claiming that we support Azerbaijan during the Karabakh victory. We need to cooperate with the first country (Canada) when we export our products to another country using the products we buy from one country. We will correct this routine by correspondence," Cavusoglu said.

Notable the Canadian government suspended exports of Wescam's electro-optical and ultraviolet camera systems and Rotax light aircraft engines manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Product to Turkey, used in the production of  Bayratkar TB2 and ANKA drones citing support for Azerbaijan in the II Karabakh War.
